The Seasons of 2010

Gratitudes   Refresh

0 #20 Organic appreciationanniez 06-27-2010 19:26 The HZs Ann Arbor, Mi

This project was a huge success. There was some hope that we could continue the good vibes it created by keeping it going through out the year. Well that didn't happen. But I am grateful for the opportunity to try and to appreciate the word 'organic'. It did not naturally grow into a regular feature. But that's so ok. If it feels right, I will contact those who participated in the fall to create a 2010 Gratitude Project.

Until then - please appreciate often and notice the gifts of your life. (Even when they disguised as problems!)

Peace - Annie

Saying 'Thanks' doesn't mean you feel it. Feeling 'Thanks' doesn't mean you get around to saying it. Like apple pie and ice cream - Feeling AND Saying 'Thanks' is a great combination. Enjoy some dessert today!

I like this quote: The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have helped you. ~John E. Southard Though paying it forward works for me too!

This is the challenging kind of gratitude. "Some people grumble because roses have thorns; I am thankful that the thorns have roses." ~Alphonse Karr

I am grateful to be in the hands of competent doctors as well as grateful to have medical insurance which makes trips to the doctor easier to swallow. I am grateful that after my surgery today they only had to take 2 layers from my ear canal. I am grateful that you cannot die from basal cell cancers - they are more a bump in the road : ) I am grateful to my husband who always helps me to see the big picture and has encouraging words. I am grateful that today has turned out to be less tragic than I anticipated!

I am grateful to be reminded today of how good gratitude is for me. I am taking an online course called "Awakening Joy" with James Baraz and am relearning just how good it feels to be grateful. It's amazing how quickly I forget since I got so much out of this project just 5 months ago.

I'm also grateful for the birds outside. Their call brings me into the moment and helps be to be right here, right now.

What's there to be grateful for???

The weather is only 78! It's sunny. I have great music on. My son is singing with me. I have a nice home, good husband, great kids, safe neighborhood, wonderful town, decent country, caring friends, and a kind family. BUT I did not win the lottery this week. So like I said - life stinks.

Happy April Fool's Day!

I am extremely grateful that my life allows me time to write. I just finished a new article and am just so appreciative that I can do that.

I was a little bummed when it became apparent that this project has fizzled for the moment. But then I thought - First it was an awesome project!. Second - it was always an experiment and I learned so much by it. And Third - I can still come here and write gratitudes as they strike me. Even if it becomes my personal site for a while - I can still enjoy it. So thanks me for creating this site - you're very cool sometimes:-)

i'm probably repeating what's been posted here already, at least a few times, but i can't help it.

we live in NE ohio. we've had a grand total of MAYBE two weeks of sunlight since last - november? october?
today it's pushing 65 degrees, the sky is blue and the sun is shining, and for that me and my seasonal affective disorder are grateful.

I had surgery 2 weeks ago, and my parents have been an amazing help with my son, my house, my dog...taking care of the driving, cooking, laundry...etc...all the stuff I have been unable to do! I will never be able to thank them enough - they are always here for us & I am so very grateful and blessed!

I am so grateful that you are out of the hospital and that the news about your health has been all positive. I am hoping that you have your health back by the time the beautiful Spring weather arrives.

My wife Pat and I had 2 wonderful experiences with 2 doctors in the last 2 days. I thank God for doctors, nurses, dentists, audiologists, PAs, pharmacists, therapists and all those who help us heal.

+1 #2 Every day with my baby!ebethansen 03-10-2010 14:19 Paris, France

Like many parents, I worry about my little baby. Normally, I appreciate my skills of imagination, but when it comes to imagining all of the terrible things that could happen to my little love, I wish I could turn it off. A wise friend and caregiver once advised me that motherhood, from the very beginning, is about learning to let go. With that in mind, I breathe through my fears and worries and cherish every single day with my dear little boy for the gift that it is.

After weeks of worry (on our part) and work (on his) my dad is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery. Lots of reflections and a renewed appreciation for all that he means to me.
