In the depths of this cold winter month, I am grateful for the smile of sunshine. And for the warmth it provides, not just to body, but mind and spirit as well.

I am grateful to be grateful. There are so many things in life that I used to not appreciate. 2009 was a difficult year, but I can look at it as a year of growth. Now I am grateful for just about everything I have and don't have. Every time I am reminded to be grateful is another chance for me to revisit this space of appreciation within myself. I try to write at least 5 things I am grateful for each night before I lay down to sleep and thank my Higher Power for giving me these things.

Starting Jan. 3rd, I started using my meditation tape by Wayne Dyer "In the Gap" and know that it will affect everything I do in 2010.

I'm grateful that my husband and I are able to go to Colorado this year and visit with my little brother (as well as get some really great skiing in). I'm grateful that we're financially sound enough to not have to worry about keeping up with bills or other payments. I'm grateful we have good health and can participate in sports like tennis, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, hiking, and ice skating. I'm grateful that we are able to share our experiences with one another and those who mean the most to us.

I'm looking forward to the possiblity of buying my own house this year. It'll be my first! I'm thankful that I've been patient with saving my money (through sacrifices of luxury) and support and encouragement from my family and loved ones.

My attitude for more than 40 years, has been to say thank you to God for every small instance of Grace. When the traffic is clear for me to get on the main road near my home, I thank God. When I go all the way into Ann Arbor without a traffic light stopping me, I say thank you. On and on it goes. But I forget somedays. My goal is to always remember, because being grateful makes for a good day. When the sun shines I am grateful. When the snow falls, I am grateful. When I smile and stay calm, I am grateful. When things are hectic, I am grateful. When there is a peaceful lull, I am grateful. I plan to start each day expressing my gratitude. This will keep me on the positive side of all events. I am grateful the site is continuing as it was most meaningful those 30 days to contemplate in earnest. Already, I am grateful.

Hmmm - Grateful to turn 50??!! For me it's just another number - it sounds big - but - when I look in the mirror I still see a 30 year old woman staring back!! (OK - it's my mirror!) I look forward to a great year spending time with family and friends. I'm grateful for my God given abilities to do my job well which keeps my phone ringing - both new and old clients. I'm grateful to be gearing up for a trip to CT to see Emily and Ryan (late Christmas-I'll take it!) I'm grateful for our new grandson who is growing and growing - expected to pop into the world the end of May : ) I'm grateful that my son Tom has made a decision to further his education in an industry that will offer him great potential to earn a living for his family. I'm grateful for my Emily who has realized that she has found her calling to be an educator and teach kids in underprivileged schools. I'm grateful that we have a year already bursting with thoughts and plans of travel - my favorite brother and family will come to CA for a 10 day visit in June - good friends from Norway who will come to the states and celebrate 50th birthdays together in September - I'm continually grateful for good jobs with much potential which allow John and I to enjoy life. Lots to be grateful for - lots to look forward to - Thank You God!!

2010 Greetings to you, my gratitude buddies! I had an inspired idea about a month ago, took action, and everything came together almost magically - my daugher and I are now (as of 01/01/2010) sharing an office space (still furnishing this weekend with my other daughter's help)...this is a woderful opportunity to help Delia in getting her own massage therapy business off the ground with little cost, and to gradually bring my own private practice closer to home....I feel joyful and have absolute confidence that the clientele will be there for both of us....and now there is the other inspired idea for a project with my daughter, Jen - this, I believe, will also come to fruition in its perfect time....and one more point of interest for me in this New Year - my birthday is on 02-01-2010.....must be a magical year ahead, right?

Looking forward to 2010, I am so thankful for my children. I am so looking forward to their accomplishments this year--their successes, their explorations, all that they will learn, and the adventures that will come our way. I am looking forward to more family time and our trip to Florida! How lucky we are to be able to plan a great trip this year! I look forward to visiting my 83 year old Grandmother while there. I am so grateful to still have her in my life. I hope this year will bring more organization to our household, more time with family, and a better sense of inner peace and gratitude for all I have.

I am most grateful, and will continue to be on 2010, to have my mom still alive. Next in line are my friends who live close by. they look after her with visits, tokens fo their affection, and my love by proxy. And love to my husband who appreciates my need and joy to fly to see her often. She set the stage for my terrific life, and I am forever grateful to her and for the universe to allow me to share her unendingly positive energy.

I just heard that my niece and Goddaughter, Georgia, has passed away suddenly. I thank God for His gift of her in my life, her smile, her generosity. I thank God for my gift of faith, knowing that she is now happier with Jesus than she ever was on earth.
